Let’s Go Wild

Absolute Poses Model 40_01

I spent last night down on Bop Street at the Ace Cafe listing to Zef Brody DJ for us some great Rockabilly music.  There is a big huge dance floor, several couple dance pose balls, and a couple of  Intan Dance Balls for anyone to bop the night away.  We had a great time, lots of joking, trading of gag gift items, and maybe it was the effect of me being there, lots of discussion about Second Life Fashion.  I didn’t wear this outfit; if I’m going to dance, of course, I’m going to be having fun in any one of my fabulous 50’s dresses with awesome flexi-skirts to twirl and whirl. However, as it goes with me and Rockabilly, I’ll stick with the look for a few days before trying something new again.

Some mood music for you, from one of my favorite Arizona Rockabilly artists, Alive Self.

Really Rockabilly!, the rockabilly fashion store of my choice, owned by that fabulous lady who also was the DJ Friday night, finally has a couple of new releases!  She’s been busy in her first life, so I’m pretty excited about this, not to mention that a Western Rockabilly look is pretty rare to find in Second Life.  The outfit is out of the usual price range for this blog, but hey, I’m allowed to have my fangirl moments and I do, as usual, have some other goodies to show you, including FREE cowgirl boots.  That said, I do think 150 lindens is a very good price.

The Really Rockabilly Jeans Outfit Western has fitmesh sizes XS-XL, as well as rigged for Maitreya and Slink Hourglass. I’ve included a shot of the back so that you can see the vibrant embroidery and the piping on the Western yoke.  This outfit is currently set out at the front desk of the store and sells for 150 lindens.  One big bonus on this set for us busty gals, is that the positioning of the embroidery is above the area that would become stretched and pixelated due to the largest part of our breasts.

When you’re in Really Rockabilly! if you go through into the next room, there along the right wall you will see a collection of hairs.  I’m modeling the “One Swirl” in midnight black. There is also a HUD of 8 textures included, as well as an RGB color tinter. I opted for the black and white polka dots that were included in the HUD. In one of my Flickr shots, I’ve also worn this hair with the cherries print scarf.  The One swirl hair is listed at 130 lindens.

My necktie is a common from Belle Epoque’s El Paso Gacha.  The gacha is only 50 lindens a pull.  Since I am so hooked on my Slink Hourglass body, and this is rigged for Maitreya but worked well with my old Violet Studios body, I have quite a few from this set, including the rare boots.  I’ve still not gotten any entries on my little blog promo, Share Your Free Dove, I wanted to let you know that I have extras in multiple colors of this scarf, along with many other items from this gacha set as prizes in the promo.  All you have to do is snap a pic of you wearing a find from The Free Dove, or a quick little write up about how you actually found the store.  I spent nearly 2k lindens on this set, so there’s quite a bit of loot to be snagged, including the rare boots!  Here’s a copy of the gacha key.

Ever since I watched the movie Footloose as a little girl, I have wanted a pair of red cowboy boots. Luckily, I stumbled into S@bbia and saw they had this pair as a group gift, along with several others.  The even better news is that the S@abbia group is FREE to join, making these boots entirely FREE.  These charming deep red cowboy boots come sized for Maitreya and Slink flat feet.  There’s also an alpha included if you wish to wear them with your standard feet.  Additionally, the store has  2 Lucky Letter Boards and a Guess and Win game that has 4 prizes that cycle through, and I quickly won a sleeveless top.  There’s a fairly large gacha room, and behind the main desk there’s some furnishing items for 20 lindens or less.

Earrings, skin, makeup, and glasses have all been blogged about in detail in previous posts, including my glasses which are also from Really Rockabilly!, but as ever the location and pricing information will be included in the style card at the end of this post.  I hope my look inspired someone to put together their own rockabilly look, and join us down at the Ace Cafe some Friday evening and hang out with the crew.
